European Qualification competitors drawn into playoff rounds

The European qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is reaching its final and most exciting round. The nine runners-up in each group was trimmed to a list of eight teams who will compete in the playoff stage. Norway's inability to score enough points during round 1 hurts them, as they will not progress to round 2 of the European qualification. Its the second straight European World Cup qualification that the Norwegians have failed to gather enough points as runners-up in their group to advance to the playoff stages. The remaining eight teams were then split into two pots, with one pot of the higher ranked teams and the other pot filled with the lower ranked teams. One team was drawn from Pot A and then one from Pot B to determine the matchups for the two leg playoff rounds. Also, a separate draw was used to determine location of the two legs in each playoff series. Here are the results of European playoff-stage draws.

Each Pot with UEFA Rankings attached
Pot A: (1) Spain, (12) Russia, (14) Denmark, (17) Serbia
Pot B: (21) Ireland, (24) Bosnia-Herzegovina, (26) Ukraine, (29) Romania
